Sometimes art can be allowed to trump function, or at least more subtly integrated with the pragmatic side of furniture design. The silhouette of a tree is visible at one angle, extruded from the surface to create the support structure.

While it might not be the most practical design it is an elegant, simple and inspirational table that could spawn a series of other furniture types potentially should the designers choose to pursue such.
